Watercolor Batik

This is my third attempt at this technique. Over a year ago during our Art Play Day, Melissa and I tried this but had the wrong kind of rice paper. I finally got around to it again with Ginwashi rice paper and it made all the difference.

I was too focused to remember to take step-by-step photos so here are a couple of sites with general instructions:

A Bird in the Hand

"From Tree to Tale" is carver Steve Arment's latest show, opening at the Josephy Center November 14th at 4pm and runs through December 18th. It is a fund-raiser for Josephy Center's youth art programs. He has invited various artist to participate and I have created 25 bird paintings, all 6"x 6" or less.
